Well,, it's kind of like this question: Do you take a shower? If the answer is 'Yes' then you'll understand the need to flush your powersteering.
Simply put, it gets dirty. If your answer is 'No' - that's just lazy and kind of creepy :-) Powersteering fluid, much like oil and other fluids in your engine, contains additives. In addition, powersteering is one of the few systems in your car that does NOT have a filter on it. And if your steering doesn't work...guess what? You die. Let's not mess with this system so important to the drivability of our cars. Over the course of the vehicle's life, that fluid, which lubricates the powersteering system, gets dirty and is no longer keeping your system lubricated. As a result, metal parts will rub together and break. Come into Cutshaw and get your oil changed, your brake pads changed and come get your powersteering system flushed. #TrustCutshaw

I do agree with the fact that power steering fluids needs to be replaced with suitable alternatives after certain time interval as mentioned in the owner's manual. The quantity and quality of different types of fluids used in the vehicle needs to be inspected at a regular interval as such fluids degrades in time and hence needs replacement after certain time interval. By replacing such fluid, we could restore the effectiveness of the fluids. So, different types of fluids used in the vehicles including the power steering fluids needs to be inspected at a regular interval and if necessary should be replaced.

Vehicles need a power steering flush at a specified mileages as recommended by the owner's manual. Power steering system consists of a pump usually run by a pulley and belt to the crank pulley on your motor. By this process of power steering flush we get all the dirty power steering fluid & contaminants out of the vehicle. After being used for a number of times the fluids become dirty & become in-serviceable. So we have to replace it with a new fluid. Before replacing the fluid it is better to have a flush to excrete the dirty fluid.

Thanks for making it quite clear how you can die if your steering doesn't work. I'll take my car into a shop nearby and have them check on the power steering for me. I wouldn't want it to go out on me while I'm driving.
